2. Adoption leave
Adoption leave and pay are roughly equivalent to maternity leave and pay.
If you qualify for the ACME adoption leave scheme you are entitled to:
- 26 weeks Ordinary Adoption Leave, 2 weeks of which may be taken before assuming full care of the child for meetings and to help to get to know the child, followed by,
- 26 weeks Additional Adoption Leave
- 39 weeks on full pay and the remaining 13 weeks will be unpaid
- You are also entitled to apply for flexible working if your adopted child is of school age.
