Overview

Maternity leave

As soon as you know that you are pregnant you must undertake a risk assessment by completing theĀ pregnancy related self-assessment checklist and discuss the results with your Development Manager. This should be reviewed if your personal or job related circumstances change during the course of your pregnancy.

You are entitled to 52 weeks Statutory Maternity Leave. This is made up of:

  • 26 weeks Ordinary Maternity Leave (OML)
  • 26 weeks Additional Maternity Leave (AML)

If you qualify for the ACME maternity scheme you are entitled to 9 months or 39 weeks leave on full pay. You may then take an additional 13 weeks unpaid leave. You can also apply to take a further 5 years unpaid Career Break away from work following your maternity leave.

During your pregnancy time off for ante-natal appointments and classes will also be given.
