6. Special leave
This is for absences from work not covered by annual leave arrangements, for example a domestic crisis or bereavement. There are two types: with pay (SLWP) and without pay (SLWP). SLWP can cover outside interests or accompanying partners working overseas.

Managers: remember that the list of situations where special leave may be appropriate is not exhaustive. Consider all reasonable requests for special leave sympathetically.
