Overview
Request flexible working arrangements within your contracted hours through your manager, or a change to your contracted hours, via the workforce planning group. If a role isn’t suited to flexible working patterns, it should be clear in the job description and advert.
Principles
Open to everyone but parents of children aged 16 and under have a right to request it.
- managers will try an accommodate requests but are able to reject or suggest alternative working patterns
- managers should regularly monitor the agreed pattern, at least monthly
- flexible working is a privilege, any abuse is a disciplinary matter
Working pattern options
- Flexible working hours – flexi, compressed hours, term-time working and annualised hours
- Part-time working or job sharing
- Homeworking
