Health and safety guide Task

Please help prevent accidents by keeping work areas tidy and clearing up trailing cables, open drawers and spills. The risk in the building is low.

First aid

Call an ambulance and inform security immediately afterwards for emergencies. Read full emergency procedure on Bookeroo.

For minor injuries or illness, contact a first aider through Bookeroo or via list of first aiders in each kitchen.

Fire evacuation

If you hear the fire alarm, leave the building by the nearest entrance and assemble in St James Park.

  • you won’t be allowed to go back into the building until you’re told it is safe
  • only go back in through the main entrance
  • you are responsible for any visitors you may have with you
  • if you have restricted mobility (either permanent or temporary) please speak to your  manager to arrange for a personal evacuation plan

The fire alarms are tested every week and occasionally there are fire alarm practices.

Smoking

You are not allowed to smoke anywhere in the building and surrounding areas including the gardens, courtyard circle, 4th floor balcony or by the entrances to the building.
