3. Types of manager

Everyone is assigned a Development Manager and it’s likely you’ll have a number of Activity Managers during your career here.

Development Managers:

  • offer you continuity
  • oversee your development and performance
  • support you to manage your career
  • work with you and your activity managers to complete your end of year appraisal

Activity Managers:

  • oversee the delivery of your work
  • assess your day-to-day performance
  • work with you to find on-the-job development opportunities
  • provide your Development Manager with a report on your performance to contribute to your end of year appraisal (and your in-year appraisal meetings)

People can activity-manage peers and those in higher grades.
