Guide to bank and privilege holidays Guide

3. Bank and privilege holidays for part-time staff

If you work part-time, you are entitled to time off for the bank and privilege days proportionate to the number of hours worked by comparable full-time staff. You should work this out in hours (not including lunch hours) and treat it as additional to your annual leave allowance.

There is a simple calculation for this:

Average number of hours you work per week (net) X 2.1 =
your bank and privilege holiday entitlement (net) for the year

For example, if you work an average of 18.5 hours a week your bank and privilege holiday entitlement for the year is 18.5 x 2.1 = 38.85 or 38 hours and 50 minutes.
